If he had been defrauded why did Musk fold before the Court case. All that stuff is lies told by musk leading up that court case. But just before the hearing he agreed to pay. Clearly he did not believe his own lies that you are now repeating. Why are you being so weird defending poor defenseless billionaires? No matter how fawning you are, Musk will not buy you a pony.
Not defending billionaires and I'm not going to put the effort into doing your research for you especially if you won't. I'm not asking you to take my word as law, I'm asking you to do your own research
You're gonna hurt ur back bending over backward to avoid seeing the forest through the trees like that.
Still not an argument

Why all you right wing people think a foreigner who got rich off his dad
Why spread absurd disinformation like this? His father didn't even help with his education: Musk worked with his through college and wound up with $100K of student debt. As Musk says (and the rest of his family verifies):

I left South Africa by myself when I was 17 with a backpack & suitcase of books. Worked on my Mom’s cousin’s farm in Saskatchewan & a lumber mill in Vancouver. Went to Queens Univ with scholarship & debt, then same to UPenn/Wharton & Stanford.”

The basis of Musk's wealth came from his ability to transform small investments into much larger ones:

"“We started Zip2 with ~$2k from me plus my home-built PC, ~$5k from my bro & ~$8k from Greg Kouri (such a good guy — he is greatly missed),” Musk also tweeted, breaking down the financing of Zip2. “My Dad provided 10% of a ~$200k funding round much later, but by then risk was reduced & round would’ve happened anyway.”

In 1999, Musk sold Zip2 to Compaq for roughly $300 million. Musk used the money from that sale to found X.com, an online financial services platform that merged with Confinity in 2000, and later became PayPal. In 2002, eBay purchased PayPal for $1.5 billion...."

Used to - maybe to people who believed his BS.
After the sluggish debacles from major automakers, the idea of a high-performance EV sports car was considered "BS" -- until Musk did it.

The idea of a rocket being able to not just return to earth, but land on its tail was "thought to be BS" -- till Musk did it.

The idea of a satellite communications constellation having ultra-low latency, yet still being able to girdle the entire planet was thought to be BS -- till Musk did it.

But of course most of Musk's achievements are simply things that we've long known are possible -- just that no one ever managed to do them profitably. Like building EVs, or launching private rockets three times a week on schedule.

The only reason the right is quiet about about what Musk does is likely because ORANGE MAN
It's truly a mark of an impressive intellect to repetitively hoot "Orange Man Bad!"

Why all you right wing people...
Why as the second comment on this article, you turn it into politics?

TechSpot have deleted comments from me just saying "hi" to another member on here, or more recently, me responding to someone who clearly has it out for a particular subject, what was the reason they gave... let me find it... Can't find the alert with the reason on...

Anyway TechSpot, why don't you filter out all the politics in the comment sections? Why can't I say Hi to certain members? Why can't I have fairly normal conversations with certain members, yet when someone here immediately starts a political flame war, absolutely nothing happens?

I don't think people realize how much money Musk has. Non of this is about money for him anymore. In today's money, most people will need about 5 million to live comfortably over the course of their life time(that's assuming money doesn't inflate or deflate). He is worth $218 billion dollars. He could live roughly 44,000 lifetimes without wanting for anything.

Frankly, I enjoy watching Musk blow his exorbitant wealth on fighting with with the people who turned our world into a dumpster fire. I don't care if he's being childish(he is), but the people he's fighting with can go **** themselves, too.

yRaz.

Techspot is mostly people outside of the US with FAR left leaning/socialistic views. I quit posting anything political here because of that. So, don't even waste your time.

And, you are right.

You only need around 2 million to live comfortably and never work again. Obviously you don't spend the principal, you invest it and live off the interest/dividends/gains.

That was maybe true 30-40 years ago or if you're Ted Kaczynski: simply trying to own your average house on a reasonably urbanized area will immediately costs you 25% to 50% of those two million and again if (Not when) you have some major illness that will probably end up taking another 25 to 50% of your 2 million in medical bills and that's often *with* you paying insurance premiums because of course those rarely mean anything anyway.

If you do manage to go with the investment route however, you either only getting a pretty conservative 8 to 9% interest meaning you're going to either forget about all of the above or you're going to do something exceedingly smart like buying a bunch of Bitcoin and eventually manage to break even (Minus your day-to-day expenses for the likely months to years I'll take you to recover...If you recover) or worst lose it all overnight.

The actual, realistic way most people can still hold on to the 'Set up for life' fever dreams of the 80s today would be to change 2 million for 2 billion and then you probably would be ok and set up for life.

It's because the moderation has gone downhill over the past few years (I was happy to pay their yearly before that). They just seem to do stuff on a whim these days.

Anyways, everyone seems to be out to get Musk these days, apparently he can't be controlled like the other Social Media sites can, or like MSM can...

Who cares what Elon Musk does with his own private business? At the end of the day Elon Musk's business decisions is what makes his own business successful or not. If you don't like Elon Musk's business decisions then start your own company.

People have formed opinions on him based on his actions, words and how he represents himself. Thats why they dont like him. We have witnessed the man baby be an absolute hypocrit and demonstrate he is absolutely reprehensible.

Of course opinions are opinions and each can have their own.

If you describe halting an illegal conspiracy between the US government and social media to suppress free speech and censor true, but politically-damaging stories as "reprehensible", then yes Musk has been very much so.

If you describe paying more in one single year in federal income tax than 59% of all US residents will pay their entire lifetimes -- all 88 million of them combined -- as "reprehensible", then yes Musk has been very much so.

If you describe being the only person on the planet -- even today -- to figure out how to make a profit selling EVs to people as reprehensible, then yes Musk has been very much so.

Talking about Musk and free speech is a joke. There is literally proof that Twitter is boosting hate speech accounts that constantly violate their rules while blocking people who say things Musk doesn't like.

I'm all for free speech. You are free to say dumb things, I am free to point it out.
"Why all you right wing people think a foreigner who got rich off his dad and cries about everything is someone to look up to, I'll never understand."

You mean the dumb things you said that brought politics into this conversation to begin with and then you started flaming said person because you assumed they weren't a lefty like you?

You should look in the mirror bud. Nobody cares about people like you except the unfortunate people who were duped into breeding with you, if that's happened yet.

Musk is one of the people turning our world into a dumbpster fire.

I figure it's just because he hates the same things you do. Musk is a dumb persons ideal of a smart person.

"got rich off of his dad" is blantantly false. Stop spreading disinformation

The fact that he supports a convicted felon and conman for president only cements my feelings about him.
Oops! A staff accountant at Trump org listed a legal expense as a legal expense. The first and only time in NY state history a "business records" charge has been filed without a victim being defrauded. And in what other category would you list a payment in which 2/3 of the funds went to pay the attorney and the remaining 1/3 went to secure a legal agreement (an NDA) as anything else but a "legal expense"?

Let's not forget that Alvin Bragg -- a man who literally ran for office on a platform of promising to "get Trump for **something**" waits to file charges until Aug 2023 -- after Trump declares he's running for office again -- despite the fact that all the facts of the case have been known since early 2017. And Bragg's hand-picked Judge Engeron -- the same judge they claim was "randomly picked", despite him being the only judge to rule against Trump in past cases -- refuses to allow the jury to hear the defense's expert legal witnesses, and even goes so far as to instruct the jurors that they shouldn't use Cohen's past history of lying under oath to evaulate whether or not he's lying under oath this time around.

But that pales in comparison to:

a. No crime was committed.
b. Even if a crime was committed, it was a misdemeanor with expired statute of limitations.
c. Even ignoring a and b, the listing itself as the choice of category was performed as a matter of due course by a staff attorney who had no contact with or instruction by Trump.

Amen to that. Elon Musk and Donald Trump are national treasures.

Hilarious is right, he got convicted by a jury of his peers
I notice you couldn't refute even one of the points made in my earlier post. And Trump was covicted from a NYC pool of people like you, who, if Bragg filed charges against Trump after the assassination attempt for bleeding in public, you'd cheerfully agree to the electric chair.

but the (in his own words) "dirty, disgusting, basement dwellers"
Golly, you found yet another far-Left Biden-Harris supporter willing to say bad things about Trump? But as long as we're quoting politicians:

Reporter - “What specific actions are you taking to fight inflation?”
Kamala - “Prices… are high. And the American people… (checks notes)… are struggling.”

Kamala on cloud technology
"It's on your laptop, and so it's then therefore up here in this cloud, that exists above us ...(turns to ask aide)... right? It's no longer in a physical place..."

Kamala on international geopolitics:
"Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So basically that's wrong."

Kamala on banking:
"Community banks are in a community and serve them because without the community banks the communities would suffer and that would hurt the community."

Kamala on abortion:
“So, I think it’s, um, very important, as you have heard from so many incredible leaders, for us at every moment in time — and certainly this one — to see the moment in time in which we exist and are present, and to be able to contextualize it, to understand where we exist in the history and in the moment as it relates not only to the past but the future. Right?"
