Amit Shah to attend Disaster Management and Forensic Advisory Committee meeting
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a two-day Home Affairs Advisory Committee Conference on Disaster Management and Forensic Capabilities from June 25 in Kevadia, Gujarat, indicated sources.
On the first day, the meeting will begin at 11 a.m. on disaster management during which long-term steps for the formulation of a comprehensive policy to mitigate the country’s perennial flood problems will be discussed.
Emphasis is placed on strengthening coordination between central and state agencies to develop a system for forecasting floods and rising water levels in the main watersheds of the country.
On the second day, i.e. June 26, the Home Affairs Advisory Committee (CCHA) meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. on forensic capabilities.
In the criminal justice system, forensic science is an essential element. Forensic pathologists examine and analyze evidence from crime scenes and elsewhere to develop factual findings that can help investigate and prosecute perpetrators of crimes or acquit an innocent person of suspicion.
The meetings will be chaired by Amit Shah on June 25-26. Other members of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee (PCC) will also join the event. Union Home Minister Ajay Kumar Bhalla and other officials will also join the meeting.
