BJP Commission of Inquiry Submits Report to Party Leader JP Nadda

Kolkata: The BJP Investigative Committee submitted a detailed report of the Rampurhat incident to the party’s National Chairman, JP Nadda.

According to BJP sources, the party chairman thanked the Kolkata High Court for entrusting the Central Forensic Laboratory with collecting samples and evidence from the scene of the mass carnage.

“Nadda also thanked the High Court in Calcutta for instructing the District Judge to install the CCTV at the scene of the offense and to protect the crime scene and for ordering a CBI investigation into the whole incident, which was one of the investigation team’s requests,” the party sources said.

The party sources also added that the commission of inquiry demanded the arrest of TMC Birbhum District Chairman Anubrata Mandal.

“Under the leadership of the Trinamool Congress, the mafia rules West Bengal in connivance with the police and political leaders. The law-abiding citizens of West Bengal have lost faith in the government and the mode of governance of the TMC, as the officers themselves have become cogs in the hierarchy of the TMC,” the letter reads.

BJP state chairman Sukanta Majumdar said the investigative committee tried to give the “truth” in the best possible way to the party’s national chairman.

“In Bengal, the law and order situation has been completely destroyed. Central intervention is needed to save the people of Bengal. We passed on the same to JP Nadda,” Majumdar said.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the BJP for its report and said the report could “influence” the investigation.

“The BJP, through its political vendetta, is trying to arrest people in our state. The CBI investigation is not over yet and they have given a report mentioning a few names. Such reports can influence the probe. The BJP should not do such a thing,” Mamata told Darjeeling.

Taking further punches at the BJP-led central government, Mamata said the prime minister should immediately step in and offer free education to students who had returned from Ukraine.
