As counselors at the nonprofit Small Talk Children’s Advocacy Center on child abuse saw young people during the pandemic, they noticed something: A bewildering number were considering suicide.

Of all the children who received a forensic interview with the center last month, about half were referred for suicide prevention counseling during follow-ups. That’s up from just 5% before the pandemic, according to Alex Brace, therapist and executive director of the center.

Gradually, counselors began to assess the risk of suicide in children and adolescents during clinical visits to the center. These assessments have proven to be so valuable that staff have chosen to keep them permanently when they reopen for in-person counseling this summer.

“The need continues to grow,” Brace said. “It’s not even so much about sustaining what we have now. It’s about sustaining it and expanding it to meet the growing need for our communities.”

  • Corsearch services have been offline since last Tuesday (November 23, 2021)
  • CEO “regrets the inconvenience” but follows “suspicious activity” on the network
  • Understanding of customer data not impacted; customers demand better communication

Branded service provider Corsearch has suffered an outage in some of its services since Tuesday (November 23, 2021), with the company revealing in an email that it is tracking “suspicious activity” on its network servers that it is investigating currently. Talk to WTR, the CEO of Corsearch says “regret the inconvenience” for his customers, some of whom complain of a lack of communication since the service outage.

It is understood that several digital services offered by Corsearch were taken offline last Tuesday, including the company’s brand search, monitoring and filtering tools. Until Friday, Corsearch customers had no idea what had happened (with a German trademark protection firm assuming friday the outage of several days was due to “maintenance”).

Corsearch sent a “platform notification” email to customers on Friday explaining that its security monitoring service had “detected suspicious activity on a limited number of servers” on its network and “immediately responded to it. contain activity “. The response included restricting access to Corsearch applications and moving the affected computer systems offline. This action “made it possible to effectively stop the activity”. Despite this, the platforms remain offline as Corsearch works with third-party cybersecurity and forensics specialists to identify which applications are secure and what remains a potential risk. At present, the survey suggests that there is “no evidence” to indicate that customer data has been affected, suggesting that Corsearch customers do not need to take any data protection measures. data.

Today, it is understood that the filtering on Corsearch platforms, the search for non-US brands and the Principium Domain Management portal all remain unavailable. Additionally, Corsearch states that brand watch notices “are not safe to deliver.” Positively, it is understood that the brand protection and anti-piracy platforms have not been affected and are fully functional, while Corsearch is offering a free TrademarkNow connection for all clients to search. filtering.

There is no estimated date for the resumption of normal services. In the comments to WTR, Corsearch CEO Satoru Ogawa said “we look forward to being fully operational soon”, elaborating: “Corsearch regrets the inconvenience to our customers of having to keep some applications offline, but we need to work with it first. a principle of security. Protecting the data and intellectual property of our customers is essential to our values. Our investigation into this incident continues as we continue to protect our network. “

For Corsearch, a potential third-party server breach is a headache in a particularly busy year. In April, European private equity firm Astorg bought Corsearch from Audax Private Equity, and a few months later, Corsearch announced the acquisition of online brand protection provider Incopro. This follows a wave of acquisitions over the past three years, including Yellow Brand Protection, Pointer Brand Protection, TrademarkNow, Marketly and Entura.

In the meantime, the company’s thousands of customers will be waiting for services to resume. It is understood that some customers were concerned about “why it took the company so long to release an official communication”, indicating that transparency and more regular updates should be a priority going forward.

For fall / winter 2021, outdoor specialist Berghaus found Dukes cabinet for his archival-inspired Dean Street collection.

Continuing to draw inspiration from the 55-year history of the first, the duo now explore how designs have evolved through the ages, telling the story of how the icon of the outdoors cemented its rightful place in the urban culture.

The campaign, led by Dukes Cupboard, features two faces of their tight-knit community. NinetyFly & Wavey Garmz founder Rihannon Barry and artist Marcus Jefferson discuss their own experiences with Berghaus, focusing on its importance to street style and interurban life.

The flagship piece of the new collection is undoubtedly the Mayeurvate jacket by Berghaus, which is inspired by a famous archival piece, the Cormayeur jacket. Meanwhile, in a new take on the seasonal puffer jacket, the oversized Selapass jacket features elements specially designed for mountaineering expeditions of decades past and superior Primaloft synthetic insulation technology.

Elsewhere, the brand reworks an alpine-inspired motif with its own Aztec motif, while psychedelic tie-dye prints are remixed on a palette of lilac, inky blue and aqua.

Finally, the capsule pays homage to ’90s streetwear with the Cropped Co-ord windbreaker jacket in contrasting colors and Aztec trims and revived Prism fleece.

Always in pursuit of a greener future, every Berghaus part comes with the offer of a free repair, a service that helps keep the kit on earth, not indoors. Several styles from the complete collection are also part of the Berghaus MADEKIND ™ commitment, which means that the fabrics are made from either recycled materials or environmentally friendly dyeing processes.

From November 10, the London store will be transformed into a Berghaus time capsule, with the Dukes Cupboard team hand-selecting a number of Berghaus archival items to display. The archives will merge the old and the new, celebrating the brand’s rich heritage and long history of innovative products that have shaped the outdoor fashion scene.

The Dean Street Collection is slated to launch on November 11 and will be available through Berghaus online shop.

The minutes go by. Anxiety increases. Fear rises about who will take care of you and what will happen. Be concerned that you will not be heard. Following a sexual assault, a survivor experiences a range of emotions, complex decisions and systems to navigate. Then, in the midst of these overwhelming questions and concerns, imagine this scene: A Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) walks into the room who immediately offers compassion, explains your rights to a free forensic examination, and relieves your concerns by saying you are in control and can stop the exam at any time.

SANEs are often among the first responders in acute cases of sexual assault and are essential in providing the initial survivor-centered trauma response. An SANE has training and clinical preparation in the medico-legal care of the survivor. By law, survivors in Florida are entitled to free examinations, which include gathering evidence, as well as being accompanied by a lawyer. To ensure a comprehensive response that includes wrap-around services, SANEs work with attorneys from the 31 Certified Sexual Assault Centers in Florida who provide ongoing confidential services.

In addition to a medical response, our work includes collecting evidence.

Communities that use ANS are better prepared to deal with the health consequences of violence. Community care invites each of us to help foster supportive environments that promote the best possible response for survivors.

Next week is nationally recognized as Forensic Nursing Week. Now is the time to educate health professionals in trauma. You can amplify these messages in your community by:

· Promote your local sexual assault center.

· Talk about the need to improve health care services for survivors.

· Support survivors without putting the responsibility of care on their shoulders.

· Recognize nurses in your area who are involved in the health and safety of victims of sexual violence.

If you are a healthcare professional interested in taking SANE training, please visit the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence website at www.fcasv.org.

Compassionate care is an essential part of the holistic response to survivors. All survivors deserve care and support that respects their rights to self-determination and bodily autonomy.

Police drone specialists were back in the Blowholes on Saturday morning, this time looking for evidence on the ground around the campsite.

It’s now been two weeks since Cleo Smith disappeared from her family’s tent in an alleged kidnapping.

Police could also be seen launching a drone around the Blowholes water area, as well as south of the campsite along the dirt tracks.

Yesterday, two officers used drones to search the area south of the family tent site.

Drones were also seen hovering over the Blowholes near where Cleo went missing during the first week of the search as police scoured the area looking for the missing four-year-old.

On Friday, forensic scientists returned to the campsite to take samples from homes in the area.

It comes after detectives leading the investigation first visited the area on Thursday to be briefed by agents at the site where Cleo’s family was camping.

Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde and Deputy Commissioner Brad Royce have joined the campsite’s lead investigators, having worked around the clock to resolve the case from Perth.

Superintendent Wilde – a nearly 40-year police veteran – is leading around 100 officers in the operation as the leader of the Rodia task force.

He said on Friday that police were still working to locate the driver of the vehicle spotted near the campsite exiting to the right of Blowholes Road, heading south towards Carnarvon.

The car was reported by two people driving north on the North West Coastal Highway between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on October 16, the morning Cleo was suspected of being abducted from her family’s tent .

“It is a priority for us to identify who was in this vehicle,” said Superintendent Wilde.

“We have not yet identified this vehicle and would like to do so.”

Police Minister Paul Papalia said on Friday that from the start of the investigation “everything necessary has been done”.

“What you saw today is Detective Superintendent Wilde who just provided information on how the police have conducted their investigation to date. Nothing to read other than that,” he said. -he declares.

“They provide a little more information. To provide, I hope, some comfort to the entire community on the seriousness with which this investigation has been handled from day one. “

Collecting evidence in the field all together requires a different skill set, they say

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which was given the mandate to deal with cyberterrorism cases over two years ago, should be provided with additional infrastructure and domain experts to investigate more effectively. on these offenses, according to experts.

“Although there are several designated laboratories for forensic analysis of evidence, experts in the field equipped with all the necessary state-of-the-art tools should be involved from the start of the investigation. Collecting evidence in the area of cybercrime requires a different set of skills, ”one official said.

Team investigation concept

Navneet Rajan Wasan, former director general of the Bureau of Police Research and Development who also headed the NIA, insisted on the concept of team investigation, which is prevalent in many countries. Referring to the ransomware attack on a pipeline network in the United States in May, he said such crimes were investigated there by teams made up of police officers and experts in the respective fields.

“However, there is no enabling provision in the Indian legal system that allows an expert in the field to formally be part of the evidence-gathering team. In the absence of such a provision, the prosecution is liable to be charged with falsifying evidence in the event that an expert in the field is implicated by an agency, since the Code of Criminal Procedure only authorizes the police to collect evidence.

Mr Wasan said experts in the field were also essential for effective management of the tools deployed to investigate such breaches. During the UPA regime, investigative agencies had sent out proposals for the hiring of experts and for adequate training of the workforce from time to time. A proposal was also made for the creation of an institute of excellence for experts.

Since a cross-border investigation has often become necessary in cybercrime cases, Mr Wasan said the system of joint investigation, by investigators from India and the countries concerned, should also be adopted.

mutual legal assistance

A detailed proposal as well as a draft law had already been sent to the UPA government at the time for legislation on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, in order to allow the rapid collection of evidence abroad. . However, another official said, it had yet to see the light of day.

The NIA was empowered to investigate cyberterrorism cases under the National Investigation Agency (Amendment) Act, which was passed by Parliament in July 2019. The law included Article 66-F of the Information Technology Act in the Annex to the NIA Act, which concerns cyberterrorism and provides for penalties of up to life imprisonment.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office brought in forensic accountants to assist with its criminal investigation into President TrumpDonald Trump Superb Investigation Says Grim View of Flourishing Anti-Democratic Views Pilot of Southwest Investigation Report Says “Come Brandon” on Theft Texas Police Deny Biden Bus Escort Requests surrounded by Trump supporters: PLUS report and its companies, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

People familiar with the matter confirmed the plans to the Post. A source familiar with the investigation said that District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. hired FTI Consulting to investigate real estate transactions and advise on whether the Trump organization has changed the value of certain assets in order to get tax breaks and better rates of interest.

The investigation, which began in 2018 to examine alleged payments made to two women who claimed to have had affairs with Trump, has now expanded to include potential wrongdoing from Trump’s larger business activities, the Post reported. .

The sources spoke to the outlet on condition of anonymity because the investigation, which is expected to cover several years of activity, is very sensitive.

Spokesmen for Vance and FTI Consulting declined to comment when contacted by the Post, and representatives from the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Trump and company officials have repeatedly condemned the district attorney’s investigation, saying it was a politically motivated “witch hunt”.

According to a corporate brochure from FTI, the company provides “the industry’s most comprehensive range of forensic, investigative, data analysis and litigation services” and has “extensive experience in the service of ‘leading companies, governments and law firms around the world’.

It comes like Vance and Trump’s lawyers fought in court on the subpoena of prosecutors at Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, for the president’s personal and business tax returns. A federal appeals court ruled in October that Trump could not block the execution of the subpoena, after which Trump’s lawyers filed a petition to stay with the Supreme Court that has yet to be decided.

The district attorney’s office has indicated in court records that it is investigating criminal conduct potentially extended to the Trump organization. Prosecutors have suggested that Trump and his companies could be investigated for tax and insurance fraud.

Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that the prosecutor’s office interviewed employees of Deutsche Bank and insurance brokerage firm Aon in connection with the Trump investigation.

The newspaper also reported that Trump had discussed with advisers the advisability of granting preventive pardons to his children. The president also claimed he can forgive himself, although it is not clear if he has the legal authority to do so.

Additionally, Trump’s power of pardon only applies to federal crimes, not state crimes.
