Rwanda’s Forensic Laboratory joins Zigama Credit and Savings Company
The Rwanda Correctional Service, the Rwanda Defense Forces, the Rwanda Bureau of Investigation and the Rwanda National Police have already joined the Zigama Credit and Savings Corporation. Only the Rwanda Forensic Laboratory was left behind.
Rwanda’s Forensic Laboratory has now become the newest member of the Zigama Credit and Savings Company family. On Friday March 15, the membership of Rwanda Forensic Laboratory was confirmed during the bank’s general assembly held at the headquarters of the Rwandan Defense Forces in Kimihurura. The laboratory operated under the Rwanda National Police until 2018.
Police handed it over last year after completing the construction of a 7 billion Rwandan franc complex that currently houses the institution. It will now begin to enjoy the benefits of the cooperative bank as it (the bank) continues to expand its services. Therefore, Rwanda Forensic Laboratory’s main activity of providing scientific evidence through DNA testing is likely to increase.
âWe are trying to bring the banking services closer to the members of the Zigama Credit and Savings Society because they can use their cell phones and other technological means. The objective is to reduce the cost of transport to access bank services. products will focus primarily on digital technology, âsaid Dr. James Ndahiro, Chairman of the Board of Zigama, as reported by The New Times.
