In the 21st century, crime rates and viral infectious diseases are at an all-time high and seem to be the real enemies of mankind. Forensic science and its various branches, especially biology, play a key role in modern justice. Forensic pathologists and laboratory personnel are of great importance in elucidating biological evidence and generating the biological evidence necessary for criminal justice. Because of the profession and like other medical health workers, forensic laboratory staff are also at higher risk in the era of COVID-19. Therefore, the safety of forensic laboratory personnel is of the utmost importance during this pandemic. The article focuses on the safety guidelines and regulations that must be adopted by forensic personnel as part of daily laboratory practices. Thus, the article may offer a reference or help implement the COVID-19 advisory to medical examiners and other laboratory staff working in forensic institutions and laboratories during the current pandemic.
