UP Police set up a 5-member committee to investigate the incident of shooting AIMIM leader Owaisi

Lucknow, Feb 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Police have set up a five-member committee in connection with the attack on the car of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) National Chairman, Asaduddin Owaisi, in Hapur on Thursday. This committee will submit its report to the government after reviewing all the evidence and investigations. Two people were arrested in this case and they revealed that they had taken this step because they were deeply hurt by Owaisi’s statements. State Police (Law and Order) Additional Director General Prashant Kumar said here on Friday that a five-member committee had been formed to investigate the matter. He said that IG Meerut himself was monitoring the matter. Along with IG Praveen Kumar from the Meerut range, a team of sharp officers have also been deployed to get to the bottom of things. Along with this, the forensic team was also engaged in the investigation. Mr. Kumar said that regarding the shooting incident in Hapur district, an FIR was registered under IPC Section 307 and CLA Act 7 on the complaint of MP Representative Asaduddin Owaisi, Yameen Khan, at the Pilkhua police station. He said the two defendants of the crime… Sachin and Shubham have been arrested. The car used in the incident was also recovered along with the firearms used. With this, a detailed investigation was opened into the matter. He said two people were arrested in connection with the shooting at MP Owaisi’s vehicle. Both will appear in court on Friday. The prima facie investigation indicated that the AIMIM leader’s remarks about a particular religion were behind this attack. The ADG said one of the arrested youths, Sachin, is a resident of Badalpur village. An illegally made gun was found in his home. Sachin said he was hurt by the controversial statements of Asaduddin Owaisi’s younger brother, Akbaruddin Owaisi. Mr Kumar said the two also said they were deeply hurt by statements Owaisi made about Ram Temple in 2013-2014. During police questioning, the two said they had been friends for a long time. At present, the police are interrogating him with various aspects in mind. Along with this, the police are also trying to arrest the person who sold them weapons. Two assailants fired five shots at the car of AIMIM National Chairman and Lok Sabha member Asaduddin Owaisi at NH-9 Chhijarsi toll booth in Pilkhuwa, Hapur at around 5.30pm on Thursday. No one was injured in the shooting. After the incident, Owaisi left for Delhi in another car. Defendants Sachin from Gautam Budh Nagar district and Shubham from Saharanpur were arrested by the police. The weapons and the car used in the crime were also found. On the other hand, hundreds of AIMIM supporters staged a demonstration in Deoband to protest against the shooting of their leader.
